Anticipating Spring Tablescape

Hello to all you "Thrifties" out there!!

Aren't we all about ready for spring to come to our neighborhood? I've seen some hyacinths and a few buttercups in bloom but we all know there will still be some cold weather coming.

But I decided today some form or fashion of spring was going to arrive at our house. The best place for me to start the spring thing is the kitchen table. Not only can you see it from the kitchen but you can see it from the living room too. So I got out a pitcher of yellow tulips and pulled out a green polka dot tablecloth. I also remembered four leaf placemats I got at Pier One a few years back. I had totally forgotten about the china we picked out after we were married for five or six years that has been stashed in the top of the kitchen cabinets for I don't know how long. LOL!! The china has flowers on it not too many but enough that the plates look like spring. The white fluted chargers help to show off those place settings.

There were cups, saucers, bowls and some desert plates too so it really filled up the table with happiness. When most of your decorations are flat on the table you have to add things that will bring the eye upward. So I found those yellow gingham napkins for the glasses which looked so plain just sitting there. I set the pitcher of tulips up on a wooden stand I got at the flea market. Then just added a couple of little green evergreen potted trees and a sense of spring has arrived.

If you are looking forward to the coming of spring why not bring it on the inside regardless of what is happening on the outside? May ya'll have a blessed week and go ahead... get those spring creative juices flowing!!
